I’m so excited to delve into this, the third installment of my Diffuser Blends For Fall series. The fire is lit in the hearth most nights, glittering frost nips at your toes, and tendrils of warm breath form in the cold morning air. As we crave warmth and comfort, snuggle into fragrances with suede and cashmere-like texture, add in boozy Bourbon and Whisky aroma, and go wild with mouthwatering spices.
You can find the first two installments at.
Fragrance Oils For Fall’s Transition Into Winter
Gourmand Aromas Inspired By Food

Fragrance oils that have been inspired by food run right through fall and the holiday season, and it’s great fun to experiment with blending them. Can be used interchangeably. Now that things are getting a little colder outside, reach for some of the more intense spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Blend them with brown sugar and nutty notes to conjure scents of baking from the kitchen. Warm breads and pastries, and of course, pumpkins of every possible variety.

Creamy & Delicious

Creamy scents are fantastic to smooth down the sharp edges of spices, spirits, and leathers. Softening them makes them so much more sensuous and appealing. Because of how vanilla conjures ice cream, this works brilliantly with these notes to bring a really comforting backdrop to your blends.
Some of my favorites are:
-
- NO. 26 - Cocoa Butter
- NO. 27 - Coconut Cream
- NO. 96 - Silky Cardamom
- NO. 105 - Golden Amber & Vanilla
- NO. 106 - Whipped Almond
- NO. 107 - Vanilla Chai & Honey
- NO. 191 - Creamy Oatmeal
- NO. 1104 - Inspired by: Buttercream Icing by Bath & Body Works
- NO. 1825 - Inspired by: Vanilla & Anise by Jo Malone
- NO. 4500 - Inspired by: Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain
Inspired By Nature

I think it was the American novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne who declared, “I cannot endure to waste something as precious as autumn sunshine”. I couldn’t agree more. Make sure you capture those last lingering rays before winter strengthens her resolve, but for days when it’s not so great to be outdoors, bring nature indoors to you.
How about:
Comforting Aromatic Textures

Why not think about textures, too, with your blends? Gone are the days of fresh linen in the breeze. Snuggle down with luxurious cashmere scents, rich leathers, polished woods, and aromatic resins. Fragrances that work well at this time of year are deeper, more intense, and have rich and sensual base notes. Aromas to surrender to and sink into, and just relinquish yourself to their beauty.
Here are some great ones for inspiration.
