NO. 1204 Fragrance Oil

The NO. 1204 Fragrance Oil is not a pure essential oil but rather contains fixatives to make a longer-lasting and more fragrant product. It works beautifully for Candle Making, Soap Making, and in Personal Care Applications such as Lotion, Shampoo, and Liquid Soap. This list is not exhaustive and we invite you to play, create, and invent a million other ways to use it. We recommend you test a small amount before scaling up to larger-size formulations. NO. 1204 Fragrance Oil conjures up the Orange groves of the Mediterranean in full, fragrant bloom. Bergamot rises to meet you, Orange Blossom embraces you and Amber, Sandalwood, and Musk invite you to linger a while between the blossoming trees and rest in the soft welcoming grass.

Aromatherapy

NO. 1204 Fragrance Oil is a deliciously tart and lightly spicy sensation to bring all your senses alive. Linger for a moment in that sunbaked Orange grove, rest among the trees, and take in all the vibrant scents that surround you. 

Light with Bergamot and Orange Blossom for that zesty citrus beginning, made hearty with spicy Cinnamon and tonk. Then let yourself be seduced by Amber, Sandalwood, and Musk, with Vanilla making the final lingering flourish.

This is a wonderful choice for making your signature home scent as it is so readily layered and can be supported with essential oils. You can easily create a scentscape sensation throughout the whole home.

Custom Soap and Bath Products

IFRA Guidelines for Maximum Dilution

Maximum dilution for this fragrance oil depends on the products you are planning on making.

It should be noted that maximum dilutions are from a safety aspect only, based on the chemical composition of the oil. In some cases, these are very high, because all components are relatively benign. These amounts are not necessarily recommendations of how much to use in your recipe. They may smell too strong or make the item prohibitively expensive to produce. As long as you remain below the advised limits, you can be as generous or parsimonious as you like. Use more, use less. We’ll leave the creative stuff to you.

Based on the ingredients used, as per the International Fragrance Regulation Authority, the following maximum dilutions apply. 

Directions for Use

Candles

Candles and related scented items fall under Category 12 of the IFRA safety standards. NO. 1204 Fragrance Oil has no restrictions on use for category 12. Feel free to use as much or as little as pleases your nose. 

Soaps and Bathroom Fragrances

The NO. 1204 Fragrance Oil lends itself well to bathroom products. Maximum dilution for soaps, shampoos, or any other IFRA category 9 product is 9.09%. This category also covers laundry pretreatment and cleaning products.

Maximum dilution for making an aerosol room spray or any other item that will be propelled using a pump is category 10B and 37.58%.

Hand Made Perfumery

Fragrance oils make wonderful additions to handmade perfumes. For cologne in category 3B designed to be applied to freshly shaved skin, a maximum dilution of 2.36% is appropriate. This would apply to both Eau de Toilettes and fine fragrances. For hydroalcoholic perfumery products in category 4A, designed to be used on unshaved skin at a maximum dilution of 28.96%.

If you decide to use The NO. 1204 Fragrance Oil in deodorant or antiperspirant products in category 2, the maximum dilution is 1.54%. This applies to either roll-on or body spray products.

Body Care

As per the IFRA regulations, the maximum safe dilution for NO. 1204 Fragrance Oil for category 5A is set at 7.24% if it is used for body creams, foot care products, insect repellents, or talcum powder.

For specialized hand creams or fragrance hand sanitizers in category 5C, the maximum dilution would be 4.66%.

The NO. 1204 Fragrance Oil is not approved under IFRA safety guidelines for any kind of lip or mouth-related products as per their categories 1 and 6.
