NO. 182 - Obsidian is a mysterious dark floral fragrance for women and men inspired by volcanic glass. Dark as pitch, black as night, cool, glossy and reflective, its very birth is one of transformation from hot molten lava into mirror smooth, tactile glass. 

This complex aroma echoes the magical contrast of Obsidian; its polished surface is cool and smooth to the touch, yet holding the memory of its explosive heat and power.

Wonderfully dark, floral and mineralic, not heavy and smoky as you might expect.

Scent Profile

NO. 182 opens with a deliciously cool aromatic accord, creating a halo of brightness around the dark floral core, like a blade of morning light moving across the polished black surface. Flashes of citrus light from Lemon and Clementine shine through fruity facets of Pear and Strawberry before a naturally cool and refreshing whisper of crushed green leaves leads us into the heart.

The open heartspace explodes into a complex dark floral accord with airy wisps of Lavender colliding into aquatic notes of Lily of the Valley. While intoxicating starlets of Jasmine twist and vine through dark purple Orchids and the rich, jammy notes of velvety red Roses. Finished with a sumptuously powdery signature of sweet Violets and Irises. Leaving flashes of aromatic colour suspended in stone, like a polished piece of Rainbow Obsidian.

Drying down into an alluring amberwood and balsamic embrace. Dusted in spicy wisps of Pepper and warmed with dry, grassy Coumarin. Understanding The IFRA Guidelines for Maximum Dilution

Maximum dilution for this fragrance oil depends on the products you are planning on making. It should be noted that maximum dilutions are from a safety aspect only, based on the chemical composition of the oil.

In some cases these are very high, because all components are relatively benign. These amounts are not necessarily recommendations of how much to use in your recipe. They may smell too strong or make the item prohibitively expensive to produce.

As long as you remain below the advised limits, you can be as generous or as frugal as you like. Use more, use less. We’ll leave the creative stuff to you.

Based on the ingredients used, as per the International Fragrance Regulation Authority, the maximum dilutions given above apply.

Blending NO. 182

We find it lends itself beautifully to blending with its atmospheric range of dark velvety aromatics. It makes for an extremely versatile and highly coveted fragrance oil for the modern scent connoisseur. Try blending it with:
