Scented Candle
Leaves By BBW Fragrance Oil is perfect for adding into scented candles with its versatile scent notes. This is where I suggest you try pairing it either with another fragrance oil or essential oils. You can come up with something totally unique, that no one else has. These would make perfect gifts for the upcoming holiday season.
Consider too if you are making your own candles to create limited editions in this way. You can take an autumnal scent and elongate its season. Add more florals for Spring/Summer collections and add those deeper, more intense scents for a dangerously sophisticated and evocative Winter scentscape.
Leaves By BBW Fragrance Oil in IFRA category 12 has no restrictions on the amount that you can use. (It’s still not an excuse to go nuts though).
How to:
- Simply set up your candle glasses or molds ready with their wicks.
- Melt your chosen wax, remove from the heat and add your Leaves by BBW fragrance oil.
- Pour into your mold or glasses and allow to set.
- Trim your wick appropriately and set on a fireproof candle plate before lighting.
- Never leave burning candles unattended and keep out of the way of pets and children.

Now don't go all fusty and stuffy on me and consign Pot Pourri to the annals of the 1980’s, it has been used for millennia and with good reason.
Come and explore why Pot Pourri has stood the test of time but in a new and exciting way.
Potpourri is usually made from fragrant and dried plant matter, but we already have the fragrance sorted which means we can turn to more unconventional ingredients and fragrance carriers instead.
A simple walk under a Beech Tree at this time of the year will yield you thousands of Beech Nut Casings. Pines have dropped their cones in the forests and late Autumn tides wash up all manner of shells and driftwood on the beaches and riverbanks. Why not collect a few of these?

How to:
- Clean your choice of pot pourri material if suitable, certainly shells, pine cones and driftwood can be given a really good scrub.
- Leave them to dry thoroughly or dry them in a very low oven to speed along the process.
- Once dry, pop them into a ziplock bag and pour in your Leaves by BBW fragrance oil. How much you use depends on how much material you have in your bag and its porosity. Think on the side of very slightly damp, not soaking wet!
- Shake the bag and distribute the oils well and then push any excess air out of the bag.
- Pop into a warm place like an airing cupboard and leave to infuse for a week.
- After a week they will be ready for you to use and arrange how you see fit.

I love autumn and how it encourages you to slow down so I have chosen recipes that encourage relaxing, self care and cozying up in front of the fire with a blanket.
For our first recipe, a deceptively simple but beautiful nourishing Dry Body Oil with Leaves By BBW.
The second recipe today is one that customers have been asking about. We have had a few inquiries this week about using our fragrance oils in homemade Fabric Conditioner. Why not wash your favorite blankets in readiness to cozy up in front of the fire?

Dry Body Oil
This makes a deceptively simple but oh so good Dry Body Oil that is chock full of nourishing carrier oils. It will help to lock in hydration, it is lightweight and quickly absorbed and helps to soften the skin. Dry oils are usually particularly soothing and much less likely to cause skin irritation or breakouts.
So don’t think twice and slather your precious skin in this delicious concoction! Let it deeply feed and nourish your skin with these awesome carrier oils.
The Leaves By BBW fragrance should sit wonderfully on your nourished and newly supple skin. Let it wrap you in its sophisticated and evocative embrace .
I think that it is absolutely perfect for a pamper night or more intimate night with your partner.
Leaves By BBW Fragrance Oil in IFRA category 5a has a safety dilution ratio of 2.71%.
You will need:
- Measuring jug
- Stainless steel spoon
- Funnel
- Oil Proof label
- 100ml bottle (A spray bottle designed for dry oils can be useful here).
Ingredients:
- 10 ml of Rosehip Carrier Oil (Rosa Canina)
- 40 ml of Avocado Carrier Oil (Persea Gratissima)
- 48 ml of Camellia Carrier Oil (Camellia japonica)
- 2.5 ml of Leaves By BBW Fragrance Oil - Approximately 2.5% safety dilution rate.
Optional - Preservative of choice - following manufacturers' guidelines.
Method:
Optional: Note when to add your preservative according to the manufacturer's instructions and note when you need to do that, so you do not forget to add it.
- Measure out the carrier oils and combine together
- Add your Leaves by BBW fragrance oil and mix until thoroughly combined
- Decant into a suitable bottle using a funnel and lid tightly
- Label, listing all ingredients and date for safety reasons.
- Do a 24 - 48 patch test.
How to Use:
- Do a 24 - 48 hour patch test! Please don’t skip it!
- Work the Dry Body Oil liberally into your skin avoiding any intimate areas, your eyes and any sore, irritated or broken skin.
- Also the oils to absorb fully before dressing or retiring to avoid oils staining your clothes or household linens.
Fabric Conditioner
I have had some questions this week via our Social Media pages, if you can use these fragrance oils in Fabric Conditioner. Well YES, you can! Let me show you how.
Fabric conditioner is simply an agent that softens fabric and White Vinegar can do this just on its own. Yet there are plenty of tutorials out there that combine it with Hair Conditioner.
At first I thought this might be a bit wasteful in terms of quantities but on reflection, combining it with water and white vinegar, it would make it go much further. Making it highly economical and more sustainable.
Choosing a hair conditioner rated by EWG as low risk could actually be a better choice for your skin all round too.
We are looking at Leaves By BBW Fragrance Oil in IFRA category 12 which has no restrictions, so you can use as much or as little as you like.
You Will Need:.
- Stainless steel spoon or stirrer.
- Large Measuring Jug
- Funnel
- 1.25 liter Bottle or Receptacle
- Label
Ingredients:
- 600 ml of Water
- 300 ml of White Vinegar
- 200 ml of Hair Conditioner Base
- 150 ml Leaves By BBW Fragrance Oil (12% dilution rate - STRONG)
Optional - Preservative - follow the manufacturers individual guidance and instructions.
Method:
- Combine all of the ingredients thoroughly.
- Add the Leaves by BBW fragrance oil.
- Using a funnel decant into a suitable bottle or receptacle.
- Label, listing all the ingredients for safety reasons and date.
- Dilute some of the final mix in water and do a 24-48 hour patch test before washing your clothes in it.
How To Use:
- Do a patch test people!
- Use it in your washing machine just like you would a usual fabric conditioner.
Top Tip: Running a handful of soda crystals though your machine every once in a while can break down the build up residues associated with laundry detergents and elongate the life of your machine.
