This week, my mind is firmly fixed upon transitioning from summer scents and gathering up my diffuser blends for fall.
I have just returned from the most glorious camping trip to the River Wye in Herefordshire, England. One thing was abundantly clear. Fall is already here!
Normally by now, autumn colors would just be beginning to tinge the trees, and the Canadian Geese arriving for their winter warmth. But, maybe because we have had such a lack of rainfall here in the UK, I don’t know, but all that happened over a month ago. We can already have billowing piles of crispy leaves to crunch through. The apples have dropped, and the blackberries are mostly over. All so very early.
I have really mixed emotions about it all. I’m desperate to hold onto the summer’s warmth and fun, but then also really welcome the coziness and colors of fall.
Best Scents For Easing Into Diffuser Blends For Fall

Ease yourself slowly into diffuser blends for fall. Just as the leaves change color gradually, make it a slow and natural process. The best diffuser blends are the ones that resonate with you and that you and your family can relate to. Choose scents that evoke happy memories, like hot apple pie and warm marshmallows. The more joyous the memory, the better. For me, the swirl of falling leaves, crisp pine forest, and glorious earthy aromas herald autumn’s coming.
No need to reach for wintery Cinnamon scents just yet - unless you absolutely adore them, of course. There’s plenty of time yet to add that spiciness to your fall diffuser blends as the colder winds begin to blow. But no, we can paint the seasons with so many other luscious fragrances before that.
I started collating the best fragrance oils for fall and realised I probably have enough for more than one article here, so I will spread them through the season to give you plenty of choice and keep things interesting for you all season long.
Tash’s Favourite Scents For The Early Weeks Of Fall
These early weeks, as summer slips quietly into autumn, are a great time to start introducing a little decadence into our diffuser blends for fall. Transition effortlessly from light florals and summer fruits into something richer and warmer. Scents that make us feel comfortable, cozy, and cossetted.
This selection features lots of delicious gourmand aromas, evoking the food of the season like apple pie and a lashing of vanilla custard. You will find mouthwatering autumn fruits and jewels of dark berries; they are great paired with creamy vanilla and lightly spiced aromas.
You will still find those light and appealing florals of summer, but with an extra edge of decadence and depth that takes them to new levels, perfect for easing yourself into fall.
Why not add luxuriousness and aromatic texture with the smooth, velvety notes of Cashmere? Pair this with warming woods for simply incredible diffuser blends for fall.
