Historical Background of Citronella Essential Oil (Java)

Citronella Essential Oil (Java) is an oil extracted from Cymbopogon Winterianus, a species of the genus “Cymbopogon,” aka Lemongrass. There are over 50 species of Cymbopogon, and almost all of them contain essential oil to extract but most commonly available among them are Citronella Ceylon and Java essential oil. Cymbopogon Winterianus is grown in Asian regions like Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Nepal, and various African regions. Our Java Citronella essential oil is the extract of Cymbopogon Winterianus native to Indonesia, which is considered more versatile and therapeutic than other species. The stem and grass blades have to go through a steam distillation process to obtain light to dark yellow color with a fresh pungent lemony aromatic essential oil.

Effective Bug/Mosquito Repellent Spray Blend

    • Java Citronella essential oil: 10 Drops
    • Lavender essential oil: 6 Drops
    • Cedarwood essential oil: 4 Drops
    • Lemon essential oil: 8 Drops
    • Water: Half a glass

Mix all these oils well in the water and store it into a dark glass container. Use a spray bottle when you want to use it as a bug/mosquito repellent in the places around you.
