Uses for NO. 31 Fragrance Oil

Flannel Fragrance Oil is not a pure essential oil but contains fixatives to make a longer-lasting and more fragrant product.

Candles

Add a few drops of flannel fragrance oil to soy wax, or better still some beeswax to create cozy autumnal harmony. Experiment with different fragrance oils to create a candle supply to make your neighbors green with envy.

Soapmaking

With a flashpoint of 200, our fragrance oils are perfect for both melt and pour and cold press soaps. Perfect for the en-suite or for the weekend away. Flannel fragrance oil is lovely for hotel bathrooms or to give a little elegance to the reception loo!

What about air fresheners and room sprays? Country elegance for your reception rooms.

Bath and Body

Gorgeous for adding to talcum powders or drawer liners. Delicate fragrance for your smalls!

Use beeswax furniture polish? Mix a little in to give your sideboard a little bit of sophisticated love.

This list is not exhaustive, and we invite you to play, create and invent a million other ways to use it. We recommend you test a small amount before scaling up to larger-size formulations. As with all Vinevida products, these fragrance oils are intended for external use only, and should not be ingested under any circumstances.

IFRA Guidelines for Maximum Dilution

Maximum dilution for this fragrance oil depends on the products you are planning on making.

It should be noted that maximum dilutions are from a safety aspect only, based on the chemical composition of the oil. In some cases, these are very high, because all components are relatively benign. These amounts are not necessarily recommendations of how much to use in your recipe. They may smell too strong or make the item prohibitively expensive to produce. As long as you remain below the advised limits, you can be as generous or parsimonious as you like. Use more, use less. We’ll leave the creative stuff to you.

Based on the ingredients used, as per the International Fragrance Regulation Authority, the following maximum dilutions apply.

Directions for Use

Candles

Candles and related scented items fall under Category 12 of the IFRA safety standards. Flannel Fragrance oil has no restrictions on use for category 12. Feel free to use as much or as little as pleases your nose.

Soaps and Bathroom Fragrances

Flannel Fragrance oil lends itself well to bathroom products. Maximum dilution for soaps, shampoos or any other IFRA category 9 product is 20.07%. This category also covers laundry pretreatment and cleaning products.

Maximum dilution for making an aerosol room spray or any other item that will be propelled using a pump is 46.51%.

Polish

Polish comes under Category 10A in the IFRA guidelines for cleaning products. As such, the maximum dilution for this product is set at 20.07%.

Hand Made Perfumery

Fragrance oils make wonderful additions to handmade perfumes. For cologne designed to be applied to freshly shaved skin, a maximum dilution of 3.43% is appropriate. This would apply to both Eau de Toilettes and fine fragrances.

If you decide to use Flannel Fragrance oil in deodorant or antiperspirant products, the maximum dilution is 1.8%. This applies to either roll-on or body spray products.

Body Care

As per the IFRA regulations, the maximum safe dilution for Flannel Fragrance Oil is set at 14.67% if it is used for body creams, foot care products, insect repellents or talcum powder.

For specialized hand creams or fragrance hand sanitizers, the maximum dilution would be 6.17%.

Unapproved

Flannel Fragrance Oil is not approved under IFRA safety guidelines for any kind of lip or mouth related products as per their categories 1 and 6.

We recommend testing a small amount before scaling up to larger-size formulations. As with all Vinevida products. These fragrance oils are intended for external use only and should not be ingested under any circumstances.

Final Thought

Unlike essential oils, there is no maximum usage with this type of fragrance oil. Experiment and express your personality with Flannel Fragrance Oil freely. The only question you need to ask yourself is how strong a scent makes me happy…then follow your aromatic dream and make it reality.

Our Commitment to Quality

All of our Fragrance Oils are free of Phthalates, Parabens, SLS and SLES.

I’m not sure what flannel is actually supposed to smell like but this does make me think of flannel when I smell it.
