Diffuser Blending With Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow By BBW  Fragrance Oil

I have already mentioned a couple of times how you can make Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow By BBW fragrance oil more versatile by blending it.

I thought that would make a good section here to show you how to look at the composition of scent notes and broaden it out, to make it even more appealing than it already is. 

Starting With The Scent Notes 

Let's look at the scent notes first

    • Top: Pumpkin 
    • Mid: Marshmallow
    • Bottom:  Cream, Vanilla 
Top Notes

We have Pumpkin coming in first, Pumpkin is quite mellow and meanders on the mid or heart note range too, there are so many top notes we could introduce here.

We are trying to broaden or lengthen the scent profile, so what notes do we find at that very top end of the scale? Fresh Citrus notes like Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Mandarin, and Orange are all up there. Sweet Orange has that ‘roundness’ and less sharp finish of the others and makes a perfect bedfellow for Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow By BBW up at this top end of the scale.

We could also introduce a floral but we have to be choosy here and consider what we are trying to do to balance this mostly sweet, creamy, vanilla scent. Flowers like Lavender might be too medicinal or sharp, so we want something more rounded on the nose like Rose Geranium with that hint of green to it as well. 

Mid or Heart Notes

Marshmallow in all its sugary, sweet squidgyness flies the flag in the heart notes and there is a lot here that we can do to support her.

It’s the perfect place to introduce a spice element with something like Ginger, Nutmeg, or even a dash of Cinnamon.

Avoid going too green or too floral in this heartspace as it could upset the overall balance. 

Base Notes

The base notes are heralded by unctuous cream Cream and that heady gorgeous Vanilla, which are really great finishers.

However, we can really deepen it down here even further if we want to make something a little more sophisticated. We can introduce the stronger spices of Clove or really go heavy with the Cinnamon. My favorite would be to introduce some of those glorious woods here,  Sandalwood, Rosewood, or Cedarwood.

Yet if I want to add that air of mystery I can add some Ylang Ylang and Patchouli to really open the fragrance out and make it bloom.

Note - this is pure and undiluted as many diffusers call for it to be used in this manner. However please check your individual manufacturer's instructions for specific guidance. You must label the bottle as UNDILUTED.

How to:

Blend together the following in a 20ml rubber-topped dropper bottle:

Safety:

    • Not for Topical Use - to only be used in a diffuser.
    • Keep out of reach of pets and children.
    • Do not diffuse with cats in the house - more information here - Is Orange Essential Oil Safe For Cats? You can simply omit the Orange essential oil and Orange Sherbet fragrance oil.

Label clearly with ALL ingredients listed and annotated as UNDILUTED, please.

Use in accordance with your manufacturer's specific recommendations for your individual diffuser.

Our Favorite Recipes With Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow By BBW Fragrance Oil

I have found a new, and exciting, recipe with Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow By BBW  Fragrance Oil this week. We are going to make Deodorizing Discs, perfect for popping into closets, stinky sneakers, and behind the bathroom sink!

The second recipe today is one that builds on last week's Melt & Pour recipe. Go one step further and make small guest soaps embedded with toys or coins for little fingers to have fun with. Kids never wanted a bath so badly!

They are both super cost-effective projects and they make stunning gifts for the upcoming Holiday season. They are easy and quick to make and can be put together as last-minute gifts. 

Deodorizing Disks Of Deliciousness

What are Deodorizing Disks? They are small, attractive, hockey puck-like tablets of baking soda, laced with fragrant oils like Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow By BBW fragrance oil. If you want to get adventurous you can color and decorate them. You could also add some rather gorgeous essential oils if you wanted to, feel free to mix them and experiment. A citrus-based essential oil would certainly bring out the full balance of the fragrance itself.

Just like we made those gorgeous wax sachets last week. These Deodorizing Disks are also meant for just this purpose, to pop into your drawers, closets, and storage boxes to keep your linens smelling luscious.

Yet, they have a little more versatility as the Deodorizing Disks can be placed under the sink in your bathroom or kitchen. They are also perfect for dropping into your teenager's stinky sneakers. 

How They Work

It is the Baking Soda that is the catalyst to naturally neutralize odors.

The secret ingredient in our Deodorizing Disks is the sweetness of Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow by BBW. You could also add a few drops of our Citrus Odor Eliminator or Vanilla Odor Eliminator for extra stink-busting gloriousness.

This will make plenty of Deodorizing Disks for your home and some extra for gifting. 

You will need:

    1. Large Mixing bowl
    2. Stainless steel spoon
    3. Mini-sized muffin tin or a soap mold

For Gifting

    1. Labels
    2. Air-tight sealing bags
    3. Or Vac Sealer and bags.
    4. Or Saran Wrap

Ingredients:

Optional:

Safety: 

    • You must place these out of reach of children and pets.

Method:

    1. Place your Baking Soda in the mixing bowl and slowly add the water or hydrosol until it starts to look like slightly damp sand. (Don’t go too far as you still have Fragrance oils and/or essential oils to add too)
    2. Add your Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow By BBW fragrance oil and any others you choose to use and mix well until very thoroughly combined.
    3. You want the scent to be evenly distributed. 
    4. Divide the mixture between the wells in the mini muffin pan or soap mold. (You can use paper cases if you wish but it is entirely optional). 
    5. Now you need to be very patient and allow them time to dry. This will depend on your relative humidity. Set them in a warm palace and they should be good to go in 24-48 hours. 
    6. You will need to store them in a completely air-tight container, in a cool dry place.

Packaging For Gifting:

    1. Those not being used immediately, will need sealing into a completely air-tight container until you are ready to package them.
    2. You can buy attractive and economical heat-sealing bags meant for things like this. Simply place the Deodorizing Disk in the pouch and either vac seal or heat seal. (Hair straighteners are perfect for this heat sealing incidentally. Use old ones though).
    3. Label clearly listing all ingredients for safety reasons and include instructions. 
    4. Make sure you label it CLEARLY, so they don’t mistake it as a bath bomb! 

How to Use:

    1. Simply place where needed in linen closets, kids' trainers, and behind the bathroom sink. 
    2. Replenish as needed. 
    3. Keep out of reach of pets and children.

Kids absolutely love the warming and delicious scent of Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow By BBW fragrance oil, it is always a winner. Probably because it reminds them of their favorite foods. Which is why it is also so popular among adults.

I always used to love receiving those tiny, beautifully packaged guest soaps even as a child and they evoked happy memories of the Holidays at our grandparents. They are the perfect size for tiny hands and there’s always something magical about something that is just yours, and no one else's at that age.

Melt and pour soaps offer a wide range of versatility for guest soaps. Many a time, I have hunted for the perfect surprise items to embed in the soap. Embedding money in kids' soaps has even the dirtiest of kids wanting to have a bath or a shower…funny that!

Keep your eye out for weeny little rubber ducks, tiny fairies, unicorns, or superheroes to live in the middle of your soap. Because it is glycerin-based soap they should be able to see them. Buy an opaque version like Goats Milk if you want a true surprise.

It’s easy to add colorant, glitter, mica, botanicals, and all manner of inclusions.

You can be sure that VINEVIDA fragrance oils will stand up to the heat treatment of melt-and-pour soap.

TOP TIP: Always wrap the finished soaps tightly in Saran Wrap or Vac Seal to stop any air contact from degrading your soap.

Note:

    1. The IFRA maximum safety dilution rate for Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow By BBW fragrance oil in category 9 is 7.11%.
    2. We recommend for a strongly scented product, that you only need to use approximately 3% of the total volume.

You will need:

    1. Microwave safe or Pyrex measuring jug.
    2. Stainless steel spoon
    3. Molds of your choice, consider the size of your embedded objects too.
    4. Labels
    5. Vacuum Sealer and bags or Saran Wrap

Ingredients:

Optional:

    • Colorant
    • Glitter or Mica
    • Embedded objects like rubber ducks, coins, and plastic characters, were all cleaned thoroughly.

Method:

    1. Chop 500g of M&P Glycerine Soap. Chop into small and even chunks and place in a microwave-proof measuring jug
    2. Cover with a microwavable plastic cover and place in the microwave.
    3. Working in one-minute power bursts for the first 3 mins.
    4. After that reduce down to 30 second power bursts. You need to make sure that it does not burn as it can burn quite easily. This is why you work in these short bursts to avoid that happening. If it burns the soap is unusable, so be patient and take your time. 
    5. In between the power bursts, stir well to help distribute the heat more evenly.
    6. Depending on your brand of M&P soap, it can take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes to melt all of your soap evenly.
    7. Once your soap is liquid, remove the jug from the microwave add your Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow By BBW, and mix well.
    8. Add your colorant if using. If using powder colorant, mix absolutely thoroughly so you have no lumps. Use a whisk if necessary, but ideally, you don’t want to add air or bubbles into the mix if you can help it. Bang the jug holding the soap firmly (but carefully) on the counter a few times, to knock out as much air as you can before molding. I tend to use liquid colors to avoid this.
    9. This is also the time to add any glitter, mica, or botanicals.
Embedding Objects Into The Molds
    1. Firstly, check if your chosen object will fit in the mold and leave enough space for enough soap to encase it. 
    2. Pour your mixture only halfway into the mold. 
    3. Spray your object with isopropyl alcohol or high-proof vodka and embed your object(s)
    4. Working very quickly, spray the remaining surface of the soap with isopropyl alcohol or high-proof vodka to burst any surface bubbles and leave a clear, glossy surface to the soap. This will help the next layer to adhere better and not leave any visible ‘lines’ or joins.
    5. Let the soap fully set 
    6. Re-heat what is left of your soap in the measuring jug (If you do this in two separate stages, you run the risk of not matching your color, mica, or glitter disbursement exactly and it will show).
    7. Spray the surface again with isopropyl alcohol or high-proof vodka and let it evaporate.
    8. Pour the next layer.  (You can do several layers if your choice of embedded items needs it - coins look good in several layers but take care not to burn your soap).
    9. Working very quickly, spray the exposed surface of the soap with isopropyl alcohol or high-proof vodka to burst any surface bubbles and leave a clear, glossy finish to the soap.
    10. Let it fully set before de-molding.
Finishing Techniques
    1. Wrap the soaps individually in Saran Wrap or vacuum seal individual bars.
    2. Be sure to label clearly with all ingredients for safety reasons, especially since they are for children
    3. Have an adult, perform a 24- 48 hour patch test before using.

How to use:

    1. Get an adult to do a 24- 48 hour patch test before using.
    2. Give to the kids and watch them have fun trying to get the embedded objects out. You might want to set rules around not digging at it lol! 
    3. Simply work the soap into a lather in their tiny little hands or with a bath pouf and use it to cleanse their skin. 
    4. Rinse off thoroughly.

Safety:

    1. Take care getting in and out of a shower or bath. Use safety rails and nonslip bath mats where available as it could be slippery.
