Historical Background of Organic Lemongrass Essential Oil

Lemongrass essential oil comes from the leaves/blades of a perennial grass, “Cymbopogon Flexuosus”. The grass belongs to the genus “Cymbopogon” (lemongrasses). It is indigenous to Burma, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and India. People also call it Cochin grass, Malabar grass, and East-Indian lemongrass.

After sourcing freshly cut leaves of the Indian Cymbopogon Flexuosus, we pass them through steam distillation process and obtain “Organic Lemongrass essential oil,” which has an aromatic profile of fresh, grassy, lemon-like, and herbaceous odor and yellow, transparent color.

Ancient Uses of Organic Lemongrass Essential Oil

Read the literature of 11th century B.C., and you’ll find that people of that time cultivated lemongrass for a variety of culinary and medicinal uses.
